The services listed below are currently offered and provided to partner districts and agencies.  However, our experience and expertise enables the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center to design and provide services that meet other needs of districts and educators.

Special Education Programs
  • Provide presentations from educational agencies or community organizations that support school programs
  • Facilitate discussions regarding local, state and federal educational mandates
  • Provide up-to-date information relative to educational topics
  • Provide an area of discussion of instructional and behavioral strategies
  • Provide administrators a support network including other educational leaders

Administrative Searches
  • Establish with the Board of Education criteria to develop an outline for the search
  • Survey district needs and establish goals for the administrative search
  • Create a strategy to inform possible candidates of the vacancy
  • Develop a marketing plan to recruit highly qualified candidates
  • Contact, screen and schedule applicant interviews as appropriate
  • Inform all applicants of the status of the interview process as needed
  • Develop, in conjunction with the Board of Education, interview questions
  • Conduct reference checks of candidates

Attendance Officer
  • Represent school district at all legal meetings related to truancy matters
  • Complete and submit all court documents
  • Serve as liaison between the district and the court system
  • Develop and maintain a database of truancy cases

Attendance Officer
  • Licensed Crisis Intervention instructors provide Crisis Prevention inservice directly to district personnel
  • Instructors are available for technical assistance and clarification related to Crisis Prevention
  • Provide "full" (12 hour) or "refresher" (3 hour) Crisis Prevention training
  • Provide an overview of Crisis Prevention including the elements of violent behavior
  • Provide staff training to be able to identify how a crisis may escalate or de-escalate
  • Provide training so staff can identify and implement strategies that have been successful in de-escalating situations
  • Development and printing of a "Certification of Completion" for staff to use for contact hours if prior approval has been requested from the Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) (Contact hours for licensure renewal)
  • Provide certificate from Crisis Prevention Institute at the completion of the trainings sessions
  • Provide optional trainings which may include "Personal Safety Techniques" and "Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention and Team Techniques."

Attendance Officer
  • Provide assistance in submission of ODE licensure applications including educator, business manager/treasurer, supplemental, alternative, substitute licensure and educational aide and pupil activity permits
  • Provide information pertaining to changes and updates of licensure requirements
  • Update the Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) database when new or updated licenses are issued
  • Provide technical assistance to district and educators regarding licensure requirements and compliance with ODE standards
  • Provide technical assistance regarding Educational Management Information System (EMIS) licensure conflicts
  • Serve as the licensure liaison for all districts to the ODE Office of Educator Licensure
  • Provide background check services to be submitted to ODE for initial and renewal licensure requirements

Attendance Officer
  • Conduct monthly meetings during the school year for parents of students with attendance issues
  • Collaborate with school officials to monitor and identify families to be referred to the program
  • Develop a referral form to be sent to the family of the student(s) with truancy concerns
  • Monitor parent attendance at the program meetings and submit the data to the school district and court personnel
  • Develop and provide parents with materials related to Ohio compulsory school attendance laws

Attendance Officer
  • Provide a list of items for districts to order supplies in larger quantities at a lower price per item
  • Process and order items requested
  • Supplies delivered to the individual district or building
  • Liaison between the districts and vendors for troubleshooting order concerns or questions

 
General Services
  • Provide districts with state mandated criminal background checks for potential district employees
  • All Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) reports electronically coded to be sent to the Ohio Department of Education
  • Provide report to both the district and the individual

Bus Driver Services
  • Provide professional development to meet initial and annual bus driver training requirements
  • Schedule clinics for required yearly physicals
  • Submit requests to Bureau of Motor Vehicles for driver abstracts
  • Update database for tracking recertification
  • Submit list of drivers for approval by the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center Board of Governors
  • Provide a list of approved drivers to school districts
  • Provide "Attendance Certificates" for bus driver training in-service
  • Provide onboard/wallet cards for drivers
  • Review T-8 (physical) forms

CCIP
  • Provide a historical overview of the Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Planning (CCIP) mandates as established bo the Ohio Department of Education (ODE)
  • Provide training to district staff involved in facilitating district CCIP meetings
  • Attend and participate in CCIP meetings
  • Support implementation of CCIP goals, strategies and action steps
  • Participate in the periodic evaluation of the CCIP

Attendance Officer
  • Provide interim fiscal personnel to districts
  • Provide grant management/special project assistance
  • Provide fiscal related consultation services
  • Provide fiscal agent services for programs/agencies

Attendance Officer
  • Meet with district/agency staff to discuss program goals and funding requirements
  • Investigate grant resources that meet district/agency program criteria
  • Develop a grant proposal based on input from the district/agency
  • Provide grant management services for the district/agency
  • Provide fiscal agent services related to the grant funds

Attendance Officer
  • Service Coordinator contacts and meets with families at their convenience to discuss any questions or concerns
  • Provide home visits with families
  • Facilitate the development of an Individual Family Service Plan (ISFP)
  • Provide the family with child development information
  • Schedule and facilitate Parent Group Meetings
  • Provide "drop in and play" activities
  • Provide developmental assessment guidance for families
  • Facilitate transition from Help Me Grow to preschool programs

Attendance Officer
  • Provide school nurse resources to meet the needs of district students and staff
  • Provide support for health related concerns for family and district employees
  • Serve as a liaison with community agencies
  • Serve as a consultant to school Intervention Assistance Team (IAT)
  • Perform health related tests for Multi-Factored Evaluation (MFE) reports
  • Provide documentation for district health related projects
  • Provide documentation for mandated health education programs

Technology Services
  • Provide workshops or courses (college credit) related to current technology hardware and software programs
  • Provide consultation services to districts in the re-development of databases and data management systems
  • Support for EMIS, eSIS, and other student database information systems
  • Support and training for ProgressBook

Water Operator
  • Provide a licensed water operator to test and monitor district water supply as required by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • Provide assistance to district maintenance personnel regarding the proper procedures for water management
  • Serve as a liaison between the district and the Environmental Protection Agency regarding mandated tests and report requirements
  • Assist district in the completion of reports required by the Environmental Protection Agency
